Co-Conspirators E-anthology

by Jeffrey Jullich

The Egyptian Sky Darkens

The Egyptian sky darkens.
Children run indoors, cutting short
Their play, the top left spinning on her point,
Their eyes throttled.
Behemoth temples left over on the flat
In big shock-blocks, or
Haunted cradles:
Temples which are institutional
Extravaganzas at the expense of the public,
Protected from the public:
—Therein lies the revolution of the cathedral.
