Exiles On Off Off Broadway
by Gregory Severance Sadie Hawkins aloof wanders side streets around Broadway wild eyes wide among teeming teenage throng girls and boys wear matching jackets Her jacket matches nothingness lexical exile license plates from southern states under hawk moon dawgs dyed dark green howl at the sad, evil-eyed bald eagle sopranoes camping on Cornelia Street out back in the bog Daffie and Dillie chew Red Man whip up crawfish pie fatback and biscuits red hot chili so lonesome they could cry their lives saved by rock and roll by their time of day by a couple of deals before dawn 25 November 1997 Winter Garden Deli, 50th St. & 7th Ave NYC, America |
